08FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Cannot find your question? Write to us at info@asylexpert.de. Instruct us directly online.

How long must I live in Germany to become a citizen?

Usually five years of lawful residence. The shortened three-year naturalisation route was abolished in autumn 2025. Other requirements include B1 German, a secure livelihood and passing the naturalisation test.

May I keep my existing passport?

Germany has generally permitted dual citizenship since June 2024. We check your country of origin’s rules in the “Dual citizenship” package.

What is included in the fixed fee, and what is not?

The fixed fee covers our legal work for your package, including written communication by email. Authority fees are paid directly to the authority, as with any application.

Can I pay in instalments?

Specific payment terms are shown before you instruct us; online payment is processed through our payment provider.

Can I pay in cash?

Cash payment is available at our two locations in Munich and Karlsruhe. You instruct us online; we handle your case in writing.

How can the AI assistant help me?

Our multilingual AI assistant answers telephone questions about prices and instalments and explains how to book online. Legal questions about your case and documents are addressed in writing within the engagement.

Do I need to visit the law firm?

You instruct us online. We deal with the power of attorney, documents and questions about your case in writing. Cash payment is available in Munich and Karlsruhe. Our multilingual AI assistant answers telephone questions about prices and instalments.

What happens if the authority does not respond?

After ten weeks without a decision, we send a written reminder and set a deadline. If the authority remains inactive, we announce an action for failure to act. This is generally possible three months after the application (§ 75 VwGO).

Can I withdraw after booking?

Yes. You may withdraw within 14 days without giving a reason, provided we have not started processing your case.

What should I do if I am facing deportation?

Choose the appropriate package online. We then clarify your information and documents with you in writing. During the engagement, we assess whether an urgent application to the administrative court is possible and which steps may apply to your case.

When can I get a permanent residence permit?

Usually after five years with a residence permit, provided the requirements for livelihood, pension contributions, German skills and housing are met. Skilled workers and EU Blue Card holders can often qualify sooner. We examine your case carefully.

How quickly will someone contact me?

You receive an email confirmation immediately after booking. The law firm will contact you within 24 hours.
